Schools In Warwickshire
For any family looking to buy a new home, one of the most important factors to consider is proximity to local schools. With a variety of schools and areas to choose from, there is a lot to consider when looking for properties for sale in Warwickshire. As local Leamington Spa estate agents, our team have lived in Warwickshire for many years and have a wealth of knowledge to share about Leamington Spa, Warwick, Kenilworth, Stratford-upon-Avon, and surrounding villages.
Our team share their advice on the best locations to consider when buying a house in Warwick or the surrounding areas when looking at schools in Warwickshire. Please always check each school’s specific catchment area carefully before making any decisions, as they can vary in radius.
Schools in Leamington Spa
If you are looking for houses for sale in Leamington Spa, Sydenham stands out to us as a great choice for families.
Living in the Sydenham area would put you close to both primary and secondary schools, excellent for those looking to buy a long-term family home. With two primary schools both rated as Outstanding by Ofsted, Sydenham Primary School and St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School, Sydenham is a great choice to give your children the best start in their education. Also in the Sydenham area is Campion School, a smaller than average secondary school and sixth form with a focus on developing close relationships with students and their families to help develop every child’s potential. Additionally, there are a number of nurseries in the Sydenham area, making this area of Leamington Spa ideal for young families looking to plant roots for the foreseeable future.
Sydenham is also a very convenient location to live in, due to access to the large Asda superstore and Croft Medical Centre, a local GP. A short drive away from Leamington Spa’s train station and the central shopping district, Sydenham is close enough to the busier parts of Leamington whilst having enough amenities nearby that you don’t need to stray too far from home.
Schools in Warwick
For families looking for more options when choosing an area to live in, both Myton School in Warwick and Trinity Catholic School are promising options. With catchments covering the majority of both Warwick and Leamington Spa, these schools, both rated Good by Ofsted, allow for flexibility when choosing a primary school, which typically have much smaller catchments. Warwick is also home to the illustrious Warwick School for Boys and Kings High School for girls.
If you are looking specifically at Warwick property for sale, then we recommend turning your attention to Emscote – a prime location for access to Coten End Primary School, Warwick’s largest primary school, with an Outstanding rating from Ofsted. Also close by is St Nicholas’ Park, full of activities for the whole family including a boating centre, mini golf, play areas and a leisure centre. Just across the River Avon is Myton School, making Emscote a convenient location no matter the age of your family.
Schools in Kenilworth
With only one secondary school, the Outstanding Kenilworth School and Sixth Form, which covers the whole area, the location you consider as your potential new home would likely be based on the primary schools in the area if you have younger children.
There are a number of primary schools rated Good, including Thorns Community Infant School and Park Hill Junior School, as well as one Outstanding school, Clinton Primary School. We would recommend choosing an area based both on your own personal preference as well as proximity to a school that suits your family’s needs the best, for example based on the size of the school.
Schools in Stratford-Upon-Avon
Many of the primary schools in Stratford-Upon-Avon come with the benefit of having large catchment areas, including the Outstanding Stratford-Upon-Avon Primary School. Stratford-Upon-Avon is also home to two Outstanding Grammar schools, King Edward VI School and Stratford Girls’ Grammar School, which both have large catchment areas covering Stratford-Upon-Avon and reaching as far as to cover Warwick, Leamington Spa, and some of Kenilworth. Stratford-Upon-Avon School, rated Good by Ofsted, also covers the entirety of the Stratford-Upon-Avon area.
With this in mind, you can reasonably choose any area of Stratford-Upon-Avon. However, we would recommend looking at areas nearby to Stratford-Upon-Avon Primary School and King Edward VI School, such as Old Town. Not only does this put you a short walking distance from Outstanding primary and secondary schools, put you would also be nearby to the Recreation Ground – excellent for family picnics and for the younger children to play!
